Craig Farr – Director
Craig’s enthusiasm to support and positively impact the lives of young people was the driving force behind starting Life Shed. Over a decade of experience within the social care and education industry, Craig’s expertise, commitment to the young people, and above all his ability to bring out the best in everyone, makes him the vital ingredient at Life Shed.
Previously Manager of an Alternative Education Provision, Mentor Coordinator, and House Manager of two residential care homes in a Special Educational Needs setting, Craig’s experience and proactive approach to every young person is second to none. Continuously facilitating growth and development in the lives of young people, Craig’s innovation and vision furthermore enables Life Shed to grow and fulfil the needs of the younger generation.

Trudi Warren – FOREST SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR
Trudi is a highly experienced GCSE level teacher and Bushcraft Instructor, specialising in educating young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviors.
She was a leader in establishing Bushcraft lessons in her previous education setting, assessing young people’s skills and engaging students in an alternative form of education.
A professional individual who brings a calming influence to her teaching.

David Clarke – Senior Mentor & Outdoor Skills specialist
Dave has over twenty years’ experience teaching science, maths, geography and outdoor education in special school settings.
He spent over three years living and teaching in Botswana, and it is here that he developed a real passion for bushcraft and was lucky enough to hone his survival skills crossing both the Kalahari and Namib deserts.
Dave is a member of the Institute of Outdoor Learning and is now training to become a Bushcraft Leader.

Glyn Thomas– Mentor
Glyn has worked in a specialist social, emotional, and mental health settings since early 2013. He has wide range of experience in supporting young people with additional needs including in the classroom, through personal and family pastoral support, and through multi-agency working. As Alternative Provision Manager within the specialist setting, Glyn’s role involved creating and providing bespoke timetables aimed at meeting the specific individual needs of each young person.
Wanting to develop his skills further, Glyn undertook and attained a first-class honours degree in childhood and youth professional studies. Undertaking the degree whilst working fulltime allowed Glyn to experience first-hand how particular theories such as attachment, cognitive development, motivational and social learning all affect the lives of young people.
At his happiest when cycling and rock climbing, Glyn has joined Life Shed with the intention of combing his passion of the outdoors with his knowledge and skills of supporting young people. Using outdoor activities as the vehicle, Glyn wants to help young people develop personal capabilities so that they can themselves overcome barriers to progress.

JEff Abbots– Forest School Instructor
Jeff has over 16 years teaching Bushcraft and Forest School skills to children and adults of all abilities, including special needs. He is passionate about sharing his outdoor skills with young people and supporting them to take achievable steps of discovery in a non-judgemental, outdoor environment which fosters positive self-esteem and resilience in a unique way. He wild camped before the term was even invented and whilst living in America he learnt bushcraft skills, living off the land in harmony with nature from native Americans.
Jeff’s focus is always to support young people in crisis with caring and empathy. He is delighted to be a part of the Life shed Team and for the opportunity to make a difference by sharing his passion of the outdoors with young people.

Demi Whitrick – Mentor & Holiday Camp Coordinator
A versatile and adaptable individual who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Life Shed through her previous roles within social care and education. Demi has supported young people with a range of needs in order for them to achieve and be successful.
Demi has an enthusiastic and creative approach in supporting young people, her dedication and caring personality combined with her experience and knowledge allow Demi to positively impact young people at Life Shed.

Chloe Walker – Services Manager
Chloe is a methodical and motivated individual who has worked within the care sector for over the past 11 years. Previous roles have included Residential Support Worker, House Manager, Designated Safeguarding Officer and Deputy Head of Care and holds her NVQ level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
She has an excellent understanding of the requirements of the service, audit processes and legislation. She is child centred, approachable and instrumental in the development of the service.
